Project Description
The homeowners desired a large modern kitchen that would flow with their existing home. We created a space they would love to entertain in. The solution was to remove a wall separating the kitchen and living room and raise the sunken living room floor. This created a larger more unified room.
Among the items on the homeowners’ wish list was more storage and counter space. Using space from an existing laundry room allowed for a bigger pantry and room for a second sink. Storage was also increased by bringing the cabinetry up to the ceiling. A dedicated wine and beverage center is enjoyed during parties.
The framed copper ceiling serves as a dramatic focal point above the generously sized island. Stainless steel Kitchen Aid appliances and a stainless apron sink add modern functionality to the kitchen. Artistic lighting fixtures and a custom backsplash complete the room.
Design Process
Interview – Dorig Designs will meet with you to discuss your project goals, timeline, and budget and review a design proposal with you based on the scope of work.
Documentation – Once a deposit has been made, Dorig Designs will document your existing space with thorough measurements and photographs.
Concepts – Using information gathered during the interview and documentation stage, Dorig Designs will develop and present concepts through 3-D and floor plan drawings.
Construction Drawings – Once concepts are approved, Dorig Designs will begin working on construction drawings detailing all of the measurements and specifications of your remodeling project. Material selections will also be finalized.
Bid – After construction drawings are finalized, Dorig Designs will review the documents with your builder as needed for bidding or construction purposes.
Construction Management – Dorig Designs will visit your project during construction typically during framing, electrical, and cabinet installation.
Completion – Dorig Designs will walk through the completed project with you to make sure you are satisfied. Now you are ready to enjoy your new kitchen or bath!
