Design Process
Phase 1
Phone Call – Initial phone call to discuss project. Once payment is made a 2 hour in-home consultation is scheduled.
Consultation – Dorig Designs will review and provide solutions to your design dilemmas. This 2 hour meeting is perfect for DIY clients. Otherwise this time is used to kick start a full design project described below.
Phase 2
Interview – Dorig Designs will meet with you to discuss your project goals, timeline, and budget and review a design proposal with you based on the scope of work.
Documentation – Once the contract is signed and deposit is made, Dorig Designs will measure and photograph your space and provide a detailed survey for you to fill out.
Concepts – Using information gathered during the interview and documentation stages, Dorig Designs will develop and present concepts through 3-D and floor plan drawings. Materials samples will also be shared. Those include cabinetry, counters, paint, and tile. Meetings will take place at showrooms or at your home.
Phase 3
Detail Drawings – Once concepts are approved, Dorig Designs will work on detailed drawings which include dimensioned floor plans, elevations, lighting and electrical plans, and cabinetry plans. Specification lists are also created documenting all of the finishes and fixtures.
Bid – After detailed drawings are finalized, Dorig Designs will review the documents with your builder as needed for bidding or construction purposes. Material selections will also be finalized and deposits on cabinetry/counters will be collected. At this point the builder is hired by the homeowner.
Phase 4
Project Management – Dorig Designs will visit your project during construction, typically during framing, electrical / plumbing, and cabinet installation.
Completion – Dorig Designs will walk through the completed project with you and help identify and resolve any deficiencies. Dorig Designs will style and accessorize the room(s) and collect final payments. Now you are ready to enjoy your new kitchen or bath!
Photography – Dorig Designs will photograph your space for their portfolio.
